Restaurants near Westin?

I%26#39;ll be in Charlotte for a conference in a few weeks and staying at the Westin near the conference center. I%26#39;ve read some of the reviews of restaurants in the area of the Westin, but wanted to get specific advice from the Forum. There will be a group of us going out for dinner one night. Do you have any suggestions of a restaurant that is walking distance and comfortable for a group on a Sun. night? Also, I%26#39;d like recommendations for casual, low priced restaurants for lunch in the area when I%26#39;m dining alone. Thanks!

You can head to the EpiCentre which is just a few blocks up from the Westin, there are a few options such as Black Finn, Mez, and Fleming%26#39;s. In your hotel you have the Ember Grille.

For casual, low priced you can try Fuel Pizza, its not the best pizza but its decent and cheap, next door is Jolina%26#39;s Tex Mex, across the way there is the Sandwich Club and a Chicago style hot dog place. These are all across the street from the hotel on the Green. If you head up to the EpiCentre again there is a Five Guys burger place, Libretto%26#39;s pizza and a Wild Wing Cafe.

Just wander around a bit from your hotel and you%26#39;ll find plenty of options on College and Tryon Streets.

Caveat - check the health inspections at EpiCentre - one of the restaurants there got an 84 rating a few days ago!

Update - just had lunch at Mez @ Epicenter... very good. Posting a review here on TA soon.

College and Tryon streets contain a lot of restaurants and bars. Pizzeria Uno, Fuel Pizza, Latta Arcade off Church street has some inexpensive fast food type options including Chinese, Subs, Wraps, Burgers, Pizza etc. Take the Red Line free transportation up and down trade and Tryon streets to get around if the hotel doesnt have a free shuttle. Epicenter is the new hip spot in town. Wild Wing Cafe and many bars and nightlife too.
