Good Hotel Near Verizon Wireless Amphitheater

Hey Guys!

My hubby and I are coming to Charlotte to watch No Dobut in concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. I am trying to decide between booking a hotel in Downtown Charlotte or a hotel in the University center. I know the hotels in the University Center would be closer to the venue... but would it be better to stay in Downtown?

If it were me, I would stay downtown for the clubs, nightlife etc... If I stayed in University I would try and book the Hilton.

Are you planning to go out after the concert or are you guys primarily coming into town to see the show and go back to your room afterwards?

We might like to go out after the concert and go dancing. Could you reccomend a good dance club in Charlotte?

If my friends and I want to dance we usually head over tho the Forum, but to tell you the truth I haven%26#39;t been in a few months. I%26#39;m sure it%26#39;s still a lot fo fun though...It has a huge dance floor and also a very cool outdoor 2nd story deck w/ couches and another bar, great for taking breaks! =)

This past Saturday night my friends and I went to Cosmos for dinner then headed next door to Alley Cats to watch some live music. After the band was done the DJ kicked in and everyone started dancing. It was a lot of fun!

University area has tons of options. Hilton will be most expensive. Also have a Courtyard and Residence Inn. Towneplace Suites is nice and inexpensive for a Marriott. ALso a Springhill Suites, Holiday Inn, and Drury Inn for cheap. Check around. Better idea to stay uptown, lots of clubs and bars to go to after the concert.
