A haint? A haunted house on Hatteras Island?

Several years ago some friends of ours heard about a supposed haunted house on Hatteras Island. They heard about it from some folks who were visiting a lot of properties ...in the process of buying a house ...either 1999 or 2000 (right before the last big price escalation). They were counseled to avoid a certain house that was for sale because it was haunted...things flying around the house without cause, voices at night, doors and windows opening and closing etc. All they remembered was that it was a house built in the 70s or early 80s. Anyone ever run into this house (or run out of it)? Anyone heard of this from someone else?

Serious about what our friends told us. They got divorced and sold their house so we do not see them much anymore (we met them on Hatteras).

We just got back from Outerbanks..we stayed at a house in Salvo that we all felt was haunted. Windows opening at night, alarm clock going off in the middle of the night, even seen a figure on the porch near the hot tub and one going into one of the bathrooms. Not sure if it%26#39;s the same house..but we all felt a little creeped out and were anxious to get home!

That is really creepy...probably the same place...what was the name of the house? Was the house for sale?

OOn the lighter side , if you take the ferry from Ocracoke over to the mainland and drive to New Bern or the Beaufort area there are some vry old houses and cemetaries. There are thes ';ghost tours'; you can go own. It is a very old part of our country. The Lost Colony was established 40 to 50 years before the Pilgrims and Jamestown I believe.
