Has anyone been on the Biltmore segway tour?

I looked at past forums, and could not find this answer.

Is it fun?

Thanks.

Has anyone been on the Biltmore segway tour?

Hello, Suzieblue!

I actually haven%26#39;t taken the one in Biltmore, but I%26#39;ve done the one in downtown Atlanta and had a good time! They are odd machines and take a bit of getting used to - plus it%26#39;s a bit distracting when you%26#39;re trying not to fall off of them while standing in one spot to listen to the tour guide...

However, in the end I felt it was worth the experience and a lot less exhausting than having to walk the entire tour!

Hope that helps...

I wasn%26#39;t aware they offered Segway tours. Thanks!

Very cool way to tour Biltmore!

Our family booked a Segway tour at the NC Arboretum in Asheville.

Thanks for your reply. I am still confused. The Biltmore Tour is a different tour. Right? Has anyone been on that tour?

I would like some information on this as well. We have the tour scheduled for our visit next week. Hopefully, someone will post some info before then, but I will also post a review when we return.

suzie,

Unless you%26#39;ve already been to the Biltmore House and Estate grounds several times in the past and are looking for something different, I would NOT recommend the Segway tour for the first time. First of all, the house, itself , is obviously not something you can tour on a Segway . You will also want to take your time seeing all the interesting stuff on the outside of the house. The terrace, the croquet lawn, the formal gardens, the azalea gardens and the greenhouses are likewise not something you can do on a Segway except in the most superficial sense,i.e. roll past them, which is missing the whole point of visiting such a unique place. Likewise the winery. The Segway tour traverses the parts of the estate between these locations in an interesting fashion, but you could just as easily drive your car.
