My husband and I have never gambled before or been to a casino so this will be our first time. Some folks we know that have been to vegas or tunica say they are offered free drinks and buffet while they%26#39;re gambling, but just reading a few of the forums it looks like the cherokee harrahs doesn%26#39;t offer this nor even serve alcoholic beverages, is this correct? Not that we are alcoholics or anything but we were just wondering.
Thanks,
Robi
Do they serve alcohol in the casino?
They do not serve alcohol. As a mater of fact you can not buy alocohol anywhere legally on the reservation. Federal law does not allow the sell of it on an Indian reservation I was told.
Do they serve alcohol in the casino?
Thanks so much. I guess it just didn%26#39;t occur to me that they wouldn%26#39;t serve alcohol in a casino. Thanks again
Robi
Does not seem like a real casino, does it. Go to a real casino if you really want to enjoy yoursef!!
I was in Cherokee this past weekend and there ia a movement to allow alcohol at the casino. I think the council has passed the sale of achohol but the chief has stoped it. The casino is being expanded. A 3rd hotel tower is being built along with a spa and new dining places. A new 7 level parking deck is going up. Maybe if acohol is sold they will make enough money off of it they might loosen up those extra tight machines to get more people there to buy over priced drinks. Upon futher review they will keep the machines as tight as possible since they have no other compettion.
no alcohol but they do allow smoking inside. it was a dreadful place.
You are correct. There is something about a 75 year old with a cigarette in one hand a oxygen tank in the other. It is by far the smokest place I have ever been.
It is a federal law that alcohol cannot be sold on the reservations. I do not think the local government can approve it. Maybe things have changed.
I agree it makes you wonder about the people smoking and carrying the oxygen bottle.

If you want to go to a real casino go to Tunica or Tampa. I have been to vegas several times and here once. It is a poor faximally of a casino. Just a bunch of machines that are tighter than tree bark. No real table games. The best game to play in a casino is a streight game of blackjack. Learn the proper strategy before playing. Put black jack strategy into your search engine. If you use this stratogy the house has the lowest house advantage in the casino. High house advantage games are slots, big wheel, keno, spanish 21 and no bust black jack and any side bets on bj or other games except the side bet on craps. As a side note the waitresses in real casinos work for tips and although the drink is free they expect a tip since the drinks cost the waitress 70 or so cents per drink. Another reminder alcohol is not served free as a curtisy but it causes you to give more money to the house. If you have questions on stratogies or gaming in general please feel free to contact me through the site.
Tribal laws regarding alcohol are not Federally mandated. They are up to the Nation. Our Indian casino%26#39;s in CT both serve alcohol and out west many tribes have tax free smoke and liquor stores.
to add onto the posters question......... can you bring your own? guess its a dumb question since if you have it in your room who would know?
