I have never been able to beat the chain rates when I%26#39;ve needed to rent locally. I use either Enterprise or Thrifty and I always join their ';clubs'; which are free and will usually get you a discount. You can check rates for several companies on Expedia or Breezenet...but the local company sites can sometimes offer an even better deal. With all the liability and complexity of car rental, I still think the national chains are best to rent with. JMHO. We used to have a ';Rent-A Wreck'; near the airport but I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s there anymore. I%26#39;d be very leery of renting from such a company - I heard some bad customer service stories from them.

That being said, someone may know of something that will be just what you are looking for...we%26#39;ll see :)

Best wishes.

Agreed, sign up for their e-mail lists. You can also go on-line to Coupon Cabin or Retailmenot.com and see what coupons are out there. I got a ridiculous deal in DC for 3 days for $53 total including with a coupon from the Entertainment Book and their weekend specials. If you are traveling over the weekend the chains are offering silly deals right now. It also may be cheaper to rent through the Local Edition as opposed to at the airport so you aren%26#39;t paying the airport taxes on the return.

No rentals deals that Ive seen. Public transportation is cheap and easy if you are going uptown and from the airport. The Lynx will take you to Uptown or Pineville Mall. If you are staying uptown you dont need a car. Many hotels have a free shuttle
