Also which ones are directly on the beach?
Will any of the hotels allow dogs?
There are no oceanfront hotels on the beach in Ocracoke, however there are hotels situated in the village on Silver Lake.
I believe that the Anchorage allows dogs.
Here is their site:

Not sure who allows dogs but the second part of your question is what I will respond to so you have a better understanding of Ocracoke. The island of Ocracoke is +90% national seashore. The remaining 10% (or whatever the % is) is the village of Ocracoke. The village is on the back eastern portion of the island and is probably a minimum of 1 and as far as 3 miles from the ocean. This is why the village has existed for almost 400 years. There are many access points to the ocean. The lack of beach front housing/motels is one of the many unique features of Ocracoke. You can take a 4-wheel drive vehicles out on the beach or go to one of the public access points. What this creates is an unspoiled +13 miles of beach front.
