Indigo Marsh--possible to take kids?

We%26#39;ll be visiting Topsail with our three kids (ages 8, 6, and 2). I%26#39;ve read good reviews of Indigo Marsh and would love to try it. Our kids thankfully enjoy good food, but I don%26#39;t want to feel out of place with them. If we went there early (like at 5pm), would we feel welcome?

Also any other suggestions for restaurants are appreciated. I%26#39;ve made note of Island Delights and the Crab Pot.

Thanks!

Indigo Marsh--possible to take kids?

It is touted as elegant fine dining, so I%26#39;m not sure there would be a kids%26#39; menu. But if your children are used to eating at nice restaurants, I think if you went early you wouldn%26#39;t feel out of place.

Island Delights would be a great and fun place to go. I don%26#39;t know about the Crab Pot, though.

I think kids would have fun at Sears Landing eating on the outside deck watching the boaters and wildlife. Ditto with the Riverview Cafe in Sneads Ferry. Ask for a window seat and watch the shrimp boats come in and all the pelicans and such.

Have fun!

InDigo does have a childs menu but they just like Sears Landing frown on small Children,Read on Sears Landing Menu where it states Parents Please Control your Children. The Owner I Know does not like Small Kids in His Place,I%26#39;,m just dying to bring My Little ones there.I see kids in the Crabpot all the time and they always have a good time there.

Sears Landing does not frown on small children, they are actually quite accommodating.

Edegenhard, you have a private message.

Oh, that%26#39;s funny about Sears Landing, (not liking kids) we always try to stop there by boat, and see many families enjoying the restaurant. All ages! They are very friendly there, to all.

I have never been to Indigo Marsh, so I cannot comment.

Have a good time, and let us know what you did!

Safe travels.

Thanks for your help! We can%26#39;t wait to get to Topsail!

jellybear, why have you tried to turn this thread into another of your personal attacks on an area restaurant? Could it possibly be that you have some ax to grind, since you were not hired when you tried to get a job there?

I believe that your failed restaurant in Holly Ridge does not qualify you as one whose opinion that I would respect. Your negative approach to this forum sure makes me think that you are a very unhappy person..... not an ambassador promoting the positive assets of Surf City or Topsail Island.

I know for a fact, that the restaurant you mentioned asks parents to keep their children with them, because unattended small children may pose a danger to themselves on the waterfront or boat docks. You said that you are “dying” to take your “little ones there.” Why?

conniecat and djad, I’m sorry to go off like that. I wish everyone was as positive as you two are.

edegenhard, your vacation will be what you make it, so have a good time. Topsail is a great place to visit.... and to live.

Thanks Topsailislander, I do love Topsail and so it is hard for me to be negative.

We have enjoyed Sears Landing very much, as with a lot of places on the water it is important to keep an extra eye out for children. While on vacation it is easy to slip into vacation mode, and let the kids wander. I don%26#39;t think a friendly reminder on the menu, or even a sign on the wall is out of order. As I have said I have never gotten the impression that Sears Landing is not kid friendly, I%26#39;ve seen many kids there, on the back porch rocking in the beautiful rocking chairs, looking over the water.

I hope to visit Sears Landing this summer, and with any luck, I will be joined by my grandson, and two nephews.

I believe the island is a family destination for a nice relaxing vacation and think it is very welcoming to all.

Stay tuned for further details.........
