Favorite Bargin Meal??

On our last min. trip to OBX we will be staying in a hotel. I am used to renting a house or condo when we go on vacation. So a hotel means lots of meals out. We will have a few splurges, but any suggestions for cheap places....if they serve fish all the better. My one daughter is a grouper lover!!!

It%26#39;s a diner, but they have some really good food lunch or dinner: Kill Devil Grill (on the beach road)

Lunch spots:

-Pigman%26#39;s BBQ (they do have Tuna and Catfish versions of bbq sandwiches)

-Five Guys Burgers %26amp; Fries (no fish %26amp; it%26#39;s a chain, but it%26#39;s my favorite burger)

-(If in Manteo) Poor Richard%26#39;s Sandwich Shop

-Butcher%26#39;s Block for deli sandwiches

A inexpensive lunch on a beach day picnic-style maybe to just grab some $5 footlong subs at Subway.

Dinner:

Mama Kwan%26#39;s, Barefoot Bernies and Tortuga%26#39;s Lie have really good food and their entrees are less than say places like Owens, Colington Cafe and 1587.

Also, some posters yesterday mentioned that Flying Fish has email/online coupons.

Breakfast is pretty affordable at places like Grits N Grill and The Ship%26#39;s Wheel.

I also recommend Kill Devil Grill on Route 12 (beach road). I think it%26#39;s near MP 10. Also, we had a very good breakfast at the Pier Restaurant at Nags Head Pier; it%26#39;s a lively spot. Stop %26#39;N Shop across from Best Western Ocean Reef Suites on beach road has very good deli sandwiches, etc.

If you are staying in the Kitty Hawk, KDH area these are my choices:

Breakfast: Max%26#39;s Real Bagels (www.maxsrealbagels.com) in Kitty Hawk for great breakfast sandwiches and coffee.

Lunch: Capt%26#39;n Franks (no website) in Kitty Hawk. Another small place, but with great hot dogs, burgers and fries. I haven%26#39;t tried it but I think they also have some seafood choices similar to fish %26amp; chips.

2nd Lunch Option that is super cheap is The Pit Surf Shop (http://pitsurf.com) in Kill Devil Hills. Wonderful wraps!

Dinner: Barefoot Bernies (http://barefootbernies.com) in Kitty Hawk. Nice variety of food and we%26#39;ve always had great service.

From the Hilton Barefoot Bernies would be a real quick car or taxi ride.

Walking...Right across the street from the Hilton there%26#39;s the Rundown Cafe, High Cotton BBQ and Duck Donuts.

Quick drives...Another place to try for lunch right down the beach road is John%26#39;s which is a little roadside shack. Try the Dolphin boat and a milkshake.

Also, good %26amp; relaxed for dinner is the Black Pelican on the beach road.
