Fairfield Harbour Resort, New Bern

Has anyone been to the Fairfield Harbour Resort in New Bern, NC,lately? I am looking for information on the golf courses that are at the resort, and any other information from someone who has stayed there recently.

We are planning on going there in July of 2008, and are looking for things to do near New Bern, including taking a ride to Altantic Beach area and maybe the Outer Bank, if anyone has any information on this, it would be appreciated.

Fairfield Harbour Resort, New Bern

I have not been to fairfield harbour but live 45 mins away.I am also an owner at wyndham resorts. They have 2 golf courses at Fairfield harbour.New Bern has the Tryon Palace,which was the home to Royal Governer William Tryon it is restored to 18th century glory.Atlantic Beach is about 1 half hour away and the outer banks is about 1 and half hours away(cedar island ferry) .

My parents timeshare there every year, and I have been with them a couple of times. They had problems the last time they booked their stay since Fairfields has changed hands and is now managed by Wyndham. Make sure you do your homework and know exactly what part you are staying in. The older units are not near as comfortable or appealing as the newer units!

I haven%26#39;t been recently and unfortunately can%26#39;t comment on the golf, but I can suggest taking a trip out to Oriental, NC. It%26#39;s not too long of a drive and they have some great little eateries and stores. Also try the Chelsea Restaurant in downtown New Bern. It%26#39;s a great little place for lunch!

Thank you for the information on Fairfield Harbour, our reservations are at Fairfield Harbour proper, not at the Windjammer Villas, do you have any idea if these are the older units you were memtioning? I am hoping there are in good condition units.

Ok first things first, kick off your shoes and walk barefoot on the lawn at union point. The grass is blissful! Check out the Birthplace of Pepsi, Tryon Palace and gardens, firemens museum, memorial cemetary. Captian Ratty%26#39;s had a long long long wait, but our steaks were good. LOL I know.....NO SEAFOOD FOR US. Cow cafe is fun for kiddos, the Chelsea Restraunt was nice also. There at tons and tons of great places to eat, one had homemade breads and pies. Yummy! We did a dolphin tour on the outer banks, there is an amazing pizza place on the outer banks also. Huge pizzas!

We%26#39;ve just returned from Fairfield Harbour New Bern. Yes, New Bern is nice (for all of the above said reasons) but you can see ALL of it in a day. The people of New Bern are VERY nice. They definitely like tourists but are not at all pushy. Prices seemed quite reasonable at restaurants, etc. I had seafood at Capt. Ratty%26#39;s and it was quite good. Captain Ratty%26#39;s. Cow Cafe also has GREAT food and fabulous ice cream! I don%26#39;t golf so Fairfield Harbour is not someplace I would recommend for lodging.
