Golf around Boone

Will be staying in a cabin the week of June 22 in seven Devils.

Looking for the best Golf Courses in the area. Which course do I just have to play?

Not being a golfer, I will attempt to give you some information.

Red Tail Mountain Golf Club www.redtailmountain.com

25 minutes from Boone.

Mountain Aire 30 minutes from Boone www.mountainaire.com

Hound Ears Private

Boone also has a public golf coarse.

I suggest asking these for other suggestions.

Golf around Boone

Its been a couple of years since playing around Boone but we liked playing at Blue Ridge CC and at Roan Valley. The course in Boone is good too but its a slower round and a little more expensive.

There are several very good public courses in the area. My favorites are Boone Golf Club off Hwy#321 toward Blowing Rock, an Ellis maples design; Redtail, formerly Roan Valley, for major elevayion changes, and Mountain Glen in Newland, a George Cobb design. If you belong to a club, your pro might get yo on Linville Ridge, but the first three I mentioned are all first rate and very good values.

The very best are all very private and include Grandfather Mountain Golf %26amp; CC, Black Diamond, Elk River, Linville CC and Blowing Rock CC. If you can wrangle an invitation, go for it.
