Im not sure where to go. there will be 11 adults and 5 small children we plan on renting a house within walking distance to the beach in corolla but we had to change the date last minute and there is no much that fits our need in the week we need so I started looking into duck that area has a little more to choose from in the way of rentals. We plan on hanging around all day beach and pol but like to walk around at night in little shops or go out for ice cream is there a place better for that?
which to choose duck or corolla
Hi as95. If you stay in a home that is close to the town of Duck, you will have places you can walk to in the evening for shopping and eating. Have you looked at the Four Seasons community? It has lots to offer for families and is close enough to walk to places. You can use the Twiddy Realty website which has good maps of the area.
You might also want to consider the Nags Head / Kill Devil Hills area if you are having difficulty finding a place you like.

We ave been staying in Duck for 20 years with a similar configuration of ages. We stay on Olde Duck Beach Road and then walk into town in the evening. Corolla has become too congested for my taste esp when it rains...everyone goes there or tries to drive. Duck still has the feel of the old outer banks...get up, so for a walk on the beach or down to Duck donuts... pack a lunch and go to the beach... come home, cook a meal for the crowd...wanter back to the beach to drink coffee and have the kids look for ghost crabs... plan a treasure hunt and buty treashure for the kids.. famly entertainment... love it!!!!!!!
