We are meeting friends in Cary the weekend of July 24th, and need ideas on where to stay, restaurants, things to do that are all family and budget friendly. It will be me and my husband and kids, ages 10, 8, %26amp; 6. I don%26#39;t usually like to do chain restaurants when visiting a new place, but not ruling it out. HELP! (We also have friends that live in Pittsboro)
Help! with budget-friendly, family trip to Raleigh area
The museums are either free or low cost. I use this site a lot when visiting: http://www.visitraleigh.com
Best wishes.

Couple places that come to mind...
Can%26#39;t help with accommodation in Cary area, but we love Sushi Thai (as the name implies, Japanese, Sushi %26amp; Thai food). It%26#39;s in Cary and Raleigh.

Cafe Carolina is a small, regional chain that a lot of people I know love:

It would be reasonably priced (sandwiches and the like).
Cary has an Embassy Suites hotel in a good location and close to the highway. Also close to some pretty good restaurants for families.
Sushi Thai for best sushi/thai (doh!) in Cary.

Maggie Moo%26#39;s on Harrison for ice cream - also this shopping area has starbucks, moe%26#39;s, carolina cafe etc - close to hotel.
