I am considering renting a home in the above area for a family re-union. There are a number of children, and I am concerned that the road up to the resort is quite long and winding. Could anyone give me information on this area, or would you reccommend some other area?
Thank you,

Do you mean Shull%26#39;s Mill Rd? That%26#39;s a fine two lane road - easy drive in from Blowing Rock. No problems. I know people from ';flatlands'; are sometimes afraid of mountain roads. They most all have a few twists and turns but Shull%26#39;s Mill is not bad. Don%26#39;t worry one second - it%26#39;s only a few minutes from town. Best wishes.

P.S. I%26#39;ve stayed at Yonahalosse and Inn at Crestwood in the same area - LOVE IT! Quiet, beautiful, not built up...and a good restaurant ( the Gamekeeper) is out there.
Thank you for your response. It will help us in our decision.

Shull%26#39;s Mill Road can be a driving challenge. Narrow, twisting and can be busy at times with visitors not comfortable with where they are.
Yonalahossee and The Inn at Crestwood are lovely and these 2 developments are about 1/2 between #105 and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
A much better selection and location is Chetola Resort. www.chetola.com
It offers rooms and condo%26#39;s. Beautiful setting right at the edge of Blowing Rock. It has a children%26#39;s play room, pool and large areas for play. A 3 minute drive into town or a 1/2 mile walk into town.
Check it out before confirming something else. We have used it for family and it was great!!!!!
I forgot to mention, The Game Keeper, is an excellent Restaurant, but not for children. An adult experience. If your families has young members, there is a much wider range of selections in Blowing Rock and Boone.
